- Is it free to play?
- Yes, GuessWhoMaker is completely free to play and create templates. You can create as many templates as you want and play unlimited games at no cost.
- Do I need to sign up?
- Yes, you need to create an account to save your templates and play games. You can sign up with your email or use your Google account for faster access.
- How many players can play?
- Currently, the game is designed for 1 vs 1 matches, like the original Guess Who game. Each player picks a secret character and must guess their opponent’s.
- How many images can I upload to a template?
- You can upload between 8 and 48 images per template. We recommend between 20 and 30 characters for an optimal and balanced gaming experience.
- What image formats are supported?
- We accept images in JPG, PNG and WebP formats. Images are automatically resized to optimize loading and game performance.
- Can I edit a template after creating it?
- Yes, you can edit your templates at any time from your profile. You can change the name, add or remove images, and modify visibility (public or private).
- How does the turn system work?
- Each player has 60 seconds per turn. During your turn you can ask questions in the chat, eliminate characters, and when you are confident, give your final answer.
- Which browsers are supported?
- GuessWhoMaker works on all modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge. We recommend using the latest version for the best experience.
- Is there a mobile app?
- There is currently no native app, but the website is fully optimized for mobile devices. You can play from your mobile browser without any issues.
- Is my data secure?
- Yes, we use Supabase as a secure backend and follow security best practices. You can check our Privacy Policy for more details.
- Can I play from any device?
- Yes, GuessWhoMaker is designed to work on any device: computers, tablets and phones. The interface automatically adapts to your screen.
- What happens if my opponent leaves the game?
- If your opponent leaves the game, you are automatically declared the winner. The game still counts as valid for rankings if it lasted more than 60 seconds.
- Can I clone templates from other users?
- Yes, you can clone any public template to create your own private version. This lets you modify and customize it without affecting the original template.
- How does the ranking system work?
- Rankings are based on finished games with each template. Only games lasting more than 60 seconds count. Rankings reset monthly and the best ones go to the Hall of Fame.
- Can I report inappropriate content?
- Yes, you can report any template or user containing inappropriate content through our contact form. We review all reports and take action when necessary.
- Is there a limit to templates I can create?
- There is no template limit. You can create as many templates as you want, both public and private. Experiment with different themes and share the best ones with the community.
- How can I make my template more popular?
- Add a good description, use descriptive names, include a variety of characters (20-30 is ideal) and share your template on social media. The most played templates appear in the rankings.
- What is Host Mode?
- Host Mode is an asymmetric game mode where one player (the host) hides behind a secret character while the other players (guessers) ask yes/no questions to figure out who it is. The host answers questions in real time and guessers can risk a guess attempt at any point.
- How do I start a Host Mode game?
- The host creates a room in Host Mode, secretly picks a character from the template grid and shares the room code with the other players. Once everyone is ready the host starts the game, and guessers submit yes/no questions that the host answers from a dedicated queue.
- What happens if a guesser gets the character wrong?
- If a guesser makes an incorrect guess attempt they are eliminated from the game. If all guessers are eliminated, the host wins. Only the first guesser to correctly identify the character wins the round.
